VIDAKOVICS READY TO CHALLENGE FOR LF WORLD TITLE

Patrik Vidakovics has been waiting a long time for this moment. Lion Fight has been just as eager to get him in the ring as well.

It's all come together at Lion Fight 67 with Vidakovics challenging Enrico Carrara for the Lion Fight World Light Heavyweight title. Their bout tops the lineup for the event taking place in Sicily, Italy, on Saturday, July 31 airing exclusively worldwide on UFC Fight Pass.

Vidakovics (51-19) took time from the last stages of his training camp to talk about his preparation and what to expect from him as he goes after the belt.

Q: Can you describe your training especially considering you have moved home to Hungary from Thailand due to the pandemic?

A: I started to prepare for this fight at the beginning of May. I had to travel to Budapest (Rokko gym), Serbia, and to Montenegro (Ronin gym with Misa Baculov) to have a best training camps and the best partners, some of whom I used to train with in Thailand.

Q: What will it be like for you as the challenger vying for the title in the champion's home country?

A: I am very comfortable going there. My best fights were always abroad. For example, in China where I used to go with only my coach. I think my opponent has the bigger stress factors as he needs to show his talent in his home town and defend his title. He got bigger things to lose.

Q: For those that haven't seen you in action yet, what can Lion Fight fans expect from you in the ring come the main event of LF67?

A: I don't really want to share my best skills. I want to let them be a surprise for everybody. What I can share with you is that we have focused on the mental preparation with Daria Albers. She is not only a great coach, but she is also a sport psychologist which is a very important part in my life. I want to be focused and to be in the present in the right time.

Q: What would becoming Lion Fight World Light Heavyweight champion mean to you?

A: This is one of the biggest opportunities of my life. It would definitly mean a lot.
