LAS VEGAS – LION FIGHT is excited to announce the return of its popular Road to Lion Fight series.
Road to Lion Fight – Australia will take place on Saturday, October 16 in Melbourne, Australia, in partnership with Warriors Way.
The event is scheduled to feature a massive World title bout plus an electrifying one-night, four-man tournament with a shot at a Lion Fight title going to the winner.
“The Road to Lion Fight series has really taken off since its inception and become a dynamic part of our schedule,” said Scott Kent, CEO of Lion Fight.
“We are very happy to be once again working with Mark Castagnini and Warriors Way on staging a Road to Lion Fight in Australia, and it is our hope that by doing a Road to Lion Fight in Australia this year, that it paves the way to us doing a major event in Australia in 2022.”
Road to Lion Fight has developed into a strong feeder system to Lion Fight with previous shows being held in Italy and Argentina. In addition to Australia, plans are already in the works for several other RTLF events for the remainder of 2021 and into 2022. Amongst the locations being considered for RTLF events are Canada, Spain, France, Germany, a return to Argentina, and select regions in the United States.
Road to Lion Fight events are primarily utilized to enhance the exposure of Muay Thai in new areas and to give amateur fighters a chance to compete on a bigger stage. As the RTLF concept has grown and developed, these fight cards have also become showcases for unheralded pro talents vying to gain a spot on the Lion Fight roster.
Lion Fight’s inaugural trip to Sicily, Italy, was for a Road to Lion Fight event which resulted in the crowning of Enrico Carrara as the World Light Heavyweight champion and in turn set up a return for Lion Fight 67 featuring Carrara’s first title defense coming up on July 31, 2021, airing exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading streaming service for combat sports.
