BAARS IS BACK WITH LION FIGHT

One of the most recognizable champions in LION FIGHT history is ready for a return to where her stardom began.

LION FIGHT CEO Scott Kent announced today that Women’s World Welterweight champion Jorina Baars has agreed to new multi-fight exclusive contract. The Dutch sensation is expected back in action as early as the beginning of the summer. Baars is best-known for winning the LION FIGHT world title with a stunningly dominant performance against Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino at Lion Fight 14 under the bright lights of the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas.

“There is no bigger name in women’s Muay Thai than Jorina Baars and she is one of the best pound-for-pound female fighters of all time in any combat sport,” said Kent.

“We are extremely excited to welcome her back to LION FIGHT and there are some very intriguing matchups ahead for her.”

After defeating “Cyborg”, Baars, who hails from Den Helder, Holland, defended her title three times. Her first defense was a third-round TKO stoppage in a rematch against Chantal Ughi, before she went on earn unanimous decision victories over Martina Jindrova and Angela Whitley.

A two-time winner of Awakening Fighters’ Fight of the Year (vs. Justino and vs. Jindrova in 2015), Baars currently stands with a record of 39-1-3 – a mark she intends on improving inside the LION FIGHT ring.

“I am very happy to be back with LION FIGHT so I can defend my title and remain the queen of women’s Muay Thai,” said Baars.

In addition to bouts in the United States and her home country, Baars has fought in England, Germany, Australia, Hungary and China.
