Worldwide Muay Thai leader Lion Fight Promotions has announced the remaining scheduled bouts for its first event of 2018 – Lion Fight 40 slated for Saturday, February 3rd at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

Tickets for Lion Fight 40 go on sale Friday, December 22nd at www.foxwoods.com.

Newly named main card bouts include the next challenge for super cruiserweight powerhouse Steve “Put Em To Sleep” Walker along with the much-anticipated return of lightweight sensation “Don” Julio Pena.

As previously announced, Lion Fight 40 will be topped by three title bouts, headlined with World Cruiserweight champion and Boston-area sensation Chip “The Surgeon” Moraza-Pollard defending his belt against New Zealand’s Slava Alexichek. The co-main event will see a new Lion Fight World Lightweight champion crowned as Thai superstar “Mr. Lightning” Lerdsila PhuketTopTeam takes on Kiwi rival Alexi Serepisos. In addition to the two world titles, Lion Fight Promotions will debut its North American title as New York City rivals Brett Hlavacek and Elijah “The Mayor” Clarke clash for the light heavyweight honor.

In the very near future, Lion Fight Promotions will be announcing its new television partner which will be providing live coverage of the events.

Here is a rundown of the bouts added to the Lion Fight 40 lineup:

Steve Walker vs. Cole Fetzner – super cruiserweight

Boston-area product Walker (2-0) has become a dynamic force with his engaging personality and power-packed finishes. In his professional debut, Walker blasted his way to a first-round TKO against Lewis Rumsey, and then followed that up by wearing out and eventually using a vicious one-punch knockout to register a third-round knockout over Robert Morrow.

Despite Walker’s imposing physique and highlight-reel stoppages, Fetzner (1-0) readily accepted the opportunity and makes the trip to Foxwoods from Ottawa, Canada.

Julio Pena vs. Isaac Tijerina

It has been a while since the Suffolk County deputy sheriff was in the Lion Fight ring, but now healed up from injuries, Pena makes his long-awaited return. Pena has created quite a reputation for himself as a knockout artist with a flair for the dramatic as evidenced in his stunning victories over Tim Amorim, Tom Evans, and Yeison Berdugo.

Hoping to play the role of spoiler is Tijerina as the Caldwell, Idaho, product has been waiting in the wings for Pena’s return.

Cris Mims vs. PJ Sweda

Mims ended 2017 with a bang and hopes to begin 2018 in much the same fashion. The Foley, Alabama, native spoiled the much-ballyhooed pro debut of amateur star Brian Bogue with a devastating elbow strike early in the second-round of their matchup at Lion Fight 38.

Hoping to derail Mims’ progress is Pennsylvania’s Sweda, whose stint in Lion Fight opened with two straight wins but he has since been knocked out in back-to-back bouts.

The Lion Fight 40 pro prelims feature Rhode Island fan favorite Brian Bogue hoping to gain back the ground he lost in his pro debut as he looks to even his record in clash with Canada’s Cody Laskar. Meanwhile, Mike Triana, who fights out of Worcester, Massachusetts, is out to keep his ascent in the ranks pointed upward as he faces upset-minded Johncy Lindor of Florida. And popular local figure Tom Evans aims to end his career on a high note as he squares off against Maine’s Tollison Lewis.

A trio of amateur bouts will add to the action of the Lion Fight 40 undercard.
